I started my life in the tree world at Newton Rigg college, it was here on a trip to the International TCC in Birmingham I first saw the ISA in action and my first view of the
Tree Climbing Championships (TCC). After a couple of years of climbing I entered my first comp in 2000 got the bug and I have not missed a year since.
I’m a working arborist and part time NPTC assessor and LOLER inspector, I have worked in local government, as a subcontractor and presently working for a small company in rural North Norfolk. I love working in trees and doing real arb work, there is no better day than three or four trees to thin shape and prune with a hand saw, washed down with a cup of tea and slice of cake. I also love coming to all the tree events and sharing knowledge and skill, I still never fail to learn some thing each time.
